Ford Expedition Trim Levels with Prices, Photos, & Specs — Preferred Ford of Grand Haven

Entering its fourth decade of production, the full-size Ford Expedition is a pioneering luxury SUV that offers space for the whole family — it can be configured with seven or eight seats — but also features rare capability, including two powerful engine options, the towing muscle to handle just about anything, and even off-roading hardware. It’s an ideal choice for anyone who needs raw volume, without sacrificing performance.

Ford has done its best to make the Expedition accessible with four trim levels, three of which are available in a MAX extended-body configuration that offers a bit of extra cargo space and breathing room for those who need it. Still, it can be tricky to navigate through the differences between them, particularly since its base-level Active trim offers many of the features available at the top end. The team at Preferred Ford of Grand Haven has assembled the following outline to help sort things out, and we can’t want to discuss this elite SUV with you further!

Ford Expedition Active

Active (Standard or MAX Extended Body Available)

Key Features

  • Starting at $62,700 MSRP*
  • 400-horsepower 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine
  • 24-inch panoramic instrument display
  • 13.2-inch center display
  • Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Coverage
  • Ford Split Gate with available Open On Approach

The Ford Expedition’s entry-level trim, the Active, affordably offers everything you need in a Ford. Right out of the gate, it includes the same muscular 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine that is also found on the upper-tier trims, and it complements that with the Ford Digital Experience infotainment system, boldly displayed on a large 13.2-inch center display, as well as comfort features like tri-zone climate control and a whopping 15 beverage holders. The Active also serves as an introduction to the Expedition’s outstanding suite of safety and security tools; front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, a lane-keeping system, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot information system, and keyless entry are all standard here.

Ford Expedition Platinum

Platinum (Standard or MAX Extended Body Available)

Key Features

  • Starting at $74,250 MSRP*
  • Available 440-horsepower 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 High-Output engine
  • 360-degree zone lighting with available roof-rail perimeter lighting
  • Long center aisle (third-row 40/20/40 flexible seating)
  • Panoramic Vista Roof
  • Available Platinum Driver’s, Stealth Appearance, Stealth Performance, and Ultimate Packages

Those seeking access to top-level features without a top-level price point would do well to consider the Ford Expedition Platinum trim. For one thing, a more powerful high-output engine is available here, through a performance package that also adds a sport-tuned suspension — even the King Ranch trim can’t claim that — while other packages offer numerous appearance and luxury enhancements. That’s not to suggest that the base-model Platinum is lacking in any way, not with standard offerings like a leather-wrapped and heated steering wheel, leather-trimmed, perforated, heated, and ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and a Bang & Olufsen® sound system present. However you configure it, the Platinum is a true luxury experience, one worthy of its name.

Ford Maverick Lobo

Tremor

Key Features

  • Starting at $81,700 MSRP*
  • 440-horsepower 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 High-Output engine
  • 33-inch all-terrain tires
  • 3.73 electronic locking differential
  • Rock Crawl mode
  • Higher ride suspension with premium passive shocks

The Tremor is the true off-roading machine in the Expedition family, with equipment and features optimized for power, durability, and versatility. That begins under the hood, as the Tremor is the only trim level where its 440-horsepower high-output engine is standard, and it continues throughout the powertrain with things like a locking rear differential and a special Rock Crawl driving mode. A revolutionary Trail Control off-road cruise control system allows you to focus on steering around obstacles, while the Tremor’s mechanical assets are kept safe by modified skid plates and underbody fuel tank protections. The inside of the cabin certainly hasn’t been neglected either, with floor liners and no carpet mats in the first and second rows, making cleanup easy.

Ford Expedition King Ranch

King Ranch (Standard or MAX Extended Body Available)

Key Features

  • Starting at $84,360 MSRP*
  • 22-inch Sinister Bronze diamond-cut machined-face aluminum wheels
  • Mesa Del Rio leather with Kingsville stitching
  • B&O® Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® with 22 speakers, including subwoofer
  • BlueCruise hands-free highway driving equipped (1-year + 90-day plan included)
  • Engine sound enhancer

Looking for the ultimate in prestige and style? The King Ranch is your move. No detail has been overlooked here, from its standard black onyx power running boards, to its specially-styled grille with Sinister Bronze-painted bars and its matching diamond-cut, machined-face aluminum wheels. There’s also plenty of exclusive interior detailing, like Mesa Del Rio leather with Kingsville stitching and ebony accents, found on the seats, console, doors and steering wheel, and floor mats with the King Ranch logo. It’s not as though the King Ranch is all style and no substance, however, as proven by top-shelf tech and luxury features like its B&O® Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen® that you’ll be able to hear clearly thanks to active noise cancellation.
